It’s been about 2 years since I started blogging about my new hobby. Blogging about vaping has been very helpful for me in terms of educating myself. I am also glad to know that others are learning from my blog as well as I go along.
I was contacted a few weeks ago by GearBest to do a product review. I was quite flattered that someone would trust my opinion about a product they have.
After looking into their website more, I discovered that GB is a lot similar to FastTech in terms of price range. They have a nice amount of vape products especially for those who are shopping on a budget. Authentic Chinese mods that rarely hit the $100 mark are also offered.
One of those mods is the Xpro M80 Plus by Smok. It’s an authentic 80-watt, dual 18650 variable wattage mod with temperature control. It is currently on sale at GearBest for under $50!
I have been using it for about a week now, vaping on it at different levels and taking note of everything I notice. No, I am not a professional reviewer, this is just an honest opinion of the product.
For $41.00 though, it definitely is a steal! I am not saying this because I got this mod for free but If I wanted a mod that costs under $50 and had features that are on-par with the higher end models, then the Xpro M80 would be given serious thought.
This is a great buy for people who are looking to try their first high powered variable wattage box mod and not break bank. In general, its just a great mod to have for under $50!
Long Battery Life
There are just so many reasons to get this mod in my honest opinion, this is my first dual 18650 mod and the battery life is amazing! I can go DAYS without charging or ever having to worry about my batteries. The charging is fast: I got down to 22% and it took me 30 minutes to get it to 100%, very nice for a dual 18650 device.
The batteries are built-in so no need to buy batteries for this. As I mentioned earlier, the battery life is amazing.
Clear Display and Easy Interface
The display is nice and bright, very easy to read. That’s all that really matters right? Well, I was vaping this at the beach yesterday, and it was hard for me to see the numbers under the sun. Other than that, the display is on point.
The interface was quite easy to figure out. Three clicks of the firing button takes you to the menu. Five clicks locks the button.
Temperature Control Rocks
In the menu, you have 3 different modes:
1. Wattage Mode – Crank this baby anywhere from 6 to 80 watts. Nice amount of power, however I don’t usually vape above 40 watts so this is still a lot of power for a vaper like me.
2. Mechanical Mode – Turn this into a mech mod. This bypasses the use of the chip in the device and gives you a “default” charge. I tried this mode on a .7 build, and I was disappointed. It performed quite poorly compared to the Wattage Mode.
3. Temp Mode – This is my favorite feature of the M80. I love sub-ohming, but I’m not really a fan of warm vapes. This feature let’s me control how cool or warm I want my vape to be. I can vape at the full 80 watts without worrying about burning my taste buds!
You can set the temp from 200F to 900F. I like rocking it at 380-400F. The only problem with this mode is the short delay when you hit the firing button on Temp Mode, other than that it works wonderful!
Other features are a puff counter and time display. It’s a great mod in my opinion, not the sturdiest mod I’ve felt but definitely not the cheapest either. While we are talking about the body, let me go to some of the cons I found with this mod.
I got mine in black, but I noticed fingerprints on it once I started using it. What was kind of concerning for me was the shiny silver plating on the top of the mod which picks up prints like a vacuum picks up dirt.
No worries though, its pretty easy to clean. A few wipes brings it back to pristine condition.
Other features worth mentioning are:
– spring loaded connector
– reset button
– 510 connection adapter
If you want to make your M80 a little more to your personal liking, Xpro M80 wraps are also available on Ebay.
If you want an affordable high powered variable wattage mod with great battery life and features, you can’t go wrong with the Xpro M80 Plus.
