Does Raising The Vaping Age Promote Teen Smoking?

Here’s something I can’t wrap my head around: We raise the buying age for vaping products, so this leads to teens going back to smoking. But aren’t cigarettes restricted from teens? How do teens go from vaping to smoking when they can’t even buy cigarettes in the first place.

Something doesn’t sound right.

Just like this article doesn’t sound right.

The data used in this story was based on age restrictions for e-cigarettes that were introduced in states between 2007 and 2013 collected by Weill Cornell Medical College. The data showed an 11.7 percent increase in teen cigarette use.

This article is also a strong candidate for the most boneheaded piece written on vaping. It states below:

As a result (of teen vape trend in the U.S.), some politicians and public health activist are condemning the use of vape pens for the possibility of attracting the kids’ attention or even hooking them on nicotine. And even if appears far-fetched that kids will hook on nicotine just by being surrounded by people vaping, it’s important to consider the vape pens can be used on facilities, unlike with cigarettes.

Yes, it is very far fetched that teens are suddenly hypnotized into wanting to try vaping just by being in the presence of vapers. And also, does it matter if you vape indoors or outdoors if you want to keep it away from the teens? There are teens who like the being outdoors too.

Even when e-cigarettes are considered to be 95 percent safer in comparison with regular cigarettes, researchers claim vaping could have unintended consequences and exposing teens to greater risks from tobacco.

I wonder what type of risks vaping has compared to cigarettes, knowing it is 95 percent safer!

Why don’t you tell the truth that politicians want to tax vaping and make crazy money like they did with the tobacco industry.

But if you ask me, I do think we should raise the vaping age. I don’t view vaping as a habit or hobby to pick up. Vaping should be used by smokers who want to quit, and so far it’s the best cigarette killer for many former smokers, including me!
