Why I Cancelled My ZampleBox Subscription

Goodbye ZampleBox

Hey guys, it’s been a while but I’m finally getting myself to start blogging again. I know I have been slacking off big time, but being away from my blog has also gotten me lonely.

I hope you guys don’t think that since I stopped blogging I stopped vaping. I sure as hell haven’t gone back to smoking either. With all the tar and nasty stuff out of my system, I could NEVER go back to cancer sticks.

So for this post I will explain why I cancelled my subscription with ZampleBox. I know I encouraged all of you to sign up with ZB because of the price and convenience.

And if you are looking for ways to save money on e-juice, ZampleBox is a great way to do so. I saved a lot of money compared to when I would buy my e-liquid at a vape brick and mortar.

There were just some things about ZB that made me decide I wasn’t going to continue with my subscription, and I will reveal the reasons why later in this post.

What Is ZampleBox?

For those of you who don’t know what Zample Box is, it’s a monthly subscription where they send you e-juice based on the flavor profile you provide to them on their site. Yes, the e-juice they send to you are random, but they are all based on what you put on your profile. Preferred flavors, PG/VG ratio, and the number of bottles you would like to receive monthly is what you can tweak on their website.

Why I Cancelled My ZampleBox Subscription

Everything was going well for the first few months. They were always on time with their delivery, and it was very convenient for me to have my e-juice delivered to me every month. The owner of the vape store I usually go to to buy my juice was getting worried after I stopped dropping by.

I subscribed to their 5 bottles a month plan which is priced at $25 a month. I used to spend the same amount on just 2 15ml bottles from the store I go to, so yeah, I was saving a lot of money.

As the months went by, I noticed the quality (in terms of flavor) of the juice they were sending me were getting worse and worse. Out of the 5 bottles, I would end up liking 1 or 2 of the bottles they sent.

The worst month for me was my third month with them. I did not like ANY of the 5 bottles they sent me. I ended up throwing away or giving away that horrid batch of e-juice.

I was very disappointed, but I thought my flavors would improve if I made my flavor profile a little more specific. I added flavors I wanted, and detailed the flavors I did not want to be sent.

The next month did improve a bit, but it was not up to the standards I would like it to be. This continued with the following months, which made me very sad.

“Oh well, you get what you pay for,” is what I told myself. Trying to be the optimist, I accepted the fact that even though it wasn’t the best tasting juice, I was still saving money with ZB.

On the 6th month it was getting more depressing. I was not looking forward to the juices they were going to send me. I still had juices from the previous months, steeped for weeks hoping that it would improve the flavor somehow. Nope, that was not the case at all.

One of the juices I did end up falling in love with through ZampleBox was the Dutchess by Sabor Vapors. If there was one good experience I had with ZB, it was them introducing me to this juice.

I decided to go directly to their site and order from Sabor Vapors. Luckily for me, they had this sweet 50% off deal on all their e-juice at that time. Their 120ml juice was priced only at $20 a bottle! I ended up getting 2 bottles. $40 for 240ml of e-juice, one of the best deals I came across ever!

Things I hated About ZampleBox

Let me gripe more and share with you guys what I hated about ZB. The most disappointing thing for me was the flavors, particular the quality of flavors.

It’s bad enough that I had to wait and steep the juices before I could vape them, but even after steeping them for a couple of weeks, the flavor just wasn’t that great.

With the exception the Dutchess, the other flavors were either too flat, or too strong for my liking. Some of them were just not vapeable for me. It makes me wonder were these e-juices come from. They do mention which company makes what, but I don’t remember noticing any premium brands ever included in the boxes I received when I was subscribed with ZB.

Good Things About ZampleBox

One thing I will give props to ZB for is their great customer service. One example of this was an incident that happened to my brother. Usually they send you a tracking number once they charge you. In this case, his tracking number was sent after a few days after he was charged for it.

He e-mailed the owner about this, and to make up for this boo boo they sent him an extra box! He’s subscribed to the 11 bottle plan, so that was 22 bottles for him to enjoy. Great way to make up for that mistake.

My Final Thoughts On ZampleBox

Like they say, taste is subjective. What I might hate, you might like. All I can say that the e-juices that I got ZampleBox were not my liking.

Although I saved a lot of money, there are other ways and other sites one can go to to buy e-liquid without breaking the bank.

  1. I am subscripted to ZB since the beginning of the company (the time they shipped in those crappy boxes … yeah … I was there) … The same thing occurred to me as well … but … I noticed, that it was all down to my flavour profile … so I tried to experiment a little bit with it and it worked out! … I added stuff I normally wouldn’t vape … just for the fun of it and got “what I ordered” … then I changed it up again and got just the stuff I wanted with good flavours and a good VG/PG ratio…..

It seems like once every now and then their system fucks up your profile and you get crappy juices. As soon as you get such a box, check your profile and put all the stuff you didn’t like about your last box into your “dislike”-field … then you will most likely never come across crappy juice anymore.

A Highlight in my last box was the “Kiwberry Yoghurt” from Kilo … If you have the time and money … get some! It’s one of the best “creamy-like-Juices” I have ever had.

    1. Thanks for the comment Ben. Yeah I did the same thing, I kept changing my flavor profile on their site to see if I would have a better result. Unfortunately for me it did very little to improve my e-juices. Yes, I love Kiwberry by Kilo, tried it myself but not through ZB. I don’t know about you but I never really got any of the top shelf stuff (I.e. Suicide Bunny, Cuttwood, Uncle Junks, etc), not sure but I guess they stopped sending brands like that. All I got were mid-level juices from the U.S.

  2. I also had similar experiences then one day I didn’t get me box. I explained to zb but no uttar thru told their water not responsible for delivery.. In your case they sent u a box. But in my case ib told them to check out the people who they have dealings to deliver the box. But to no avail. Also I observed regarding the quality now I’m store their just trying to seek the samples and pushing on consumers. One more thing the minute u activate the membership the f…ing cut from your credit card.. I realised better to buy the eliquid of our taste from individual sites.

    1. I remember my last 2 months with them was really bad. I was subscribed to the 6-bottle plan, and all six were bad. I said okay, I’ll give them one more chance. If the next box they send me is bad, I’m cancelling for sure. I even made my flavor profile very specific with what I want and what I don’t want. Then when the box came, only 2 out of the 6 bottles were average, the rest were just terrible. I even got a spicy rum flavored e-juice and I hate spicy rum!
