Doesn’t it bother you on how biased the media is nowadays? Whatever happened to journalistic integrity? Every now and then, you will come across a news piece either on TV, on the radio, or in print. And in some of those instances you will find yourself on the opposing side of what is being reported to you.
Nothing is more frustrating than hearing misleading news being told to us in a tone like it was being told to you in truth. You tell yourself, “no, that’s not true. They’re lying!” Something inside you wants to set them straight. Trust me, I know how frustrating it can be, I come across these wacky news articles that just make me go “huh?!” on a daily basis!
We’re not alone! Just recently a number of people shared their disappointment in the publishing of an article related to vaping. A few people took to Fox News website bashing an article that was published which warned people that vaping might be as harmful to the heart as smoking. Seems like we aren’t the only ones fed up with the media bias.
In a study conducted on 24 adult smokers, researchers said the effect of a 30 minute vaping session was comparable to a 5 minute smoking session when it came to the stiffening of the aorta. The stiffer the aorta is, the more difficult it will be for the heart to pump blood.
Readers immediately went to the comments section warning Fox News to be careful when posting articles that could lead to people’s death in an attempt for click bait.
One comment called the study “garbage.”
“They tested 24 smokers who are still under the effects of long term tobacco use. How about smokers vs vapers and a larger pool?”
Other comments asked for more details on the study, like what was causing the stiffness in the first place.
What surprises me is there are people out there that actually believe that vaping is run by Big Tobacco. No wonder some people hate vaping as much as they do smoking.
This might be true when it comes to cigalikes (e-cigarettes or vape products modeled after cigarettes), but when it comes to true vaping at it’s essence, when it comes to vaping with the use of mods and tanks, these are all run by independent companies that have nothing to do with the tobacco industry.
The lash out in the comments section shows that people detect B.S. much better now than in the past, especially when it comes to the media. It also showed Fox News (and other mainstream media outlets) that their readers are a lot more well-informed in certain topics than these news companies would believe.
This sends a signal to media outlets that the people want an unbiased representation of the news and if this continues the people will simply resort to other ways of getting their news.
